Wienyl grew out of one man turning his hobby into a job: a 25sqm store room, then a 50sqm one in 2013, and since the end of July 2018 a 100sqm shop on Rottstrasse in the 14th district. Stock runs 50,000 to 70,000 discs, from 7-inch, 10-inch and 12-inch vinyl to CDs, shellacs, cassettes and a few concert posters. Every item is graded by eye and photographed for the online shop with any damage listed separately, and he ships worldwide. He opens 6 to 10 days a month, announced on the site and Facebook, because his wife works 24-hour shifts and the kids come first, so ring ahead if you are nearby. He buys too: metal, rock, pop, jazz, funk, hip hop, blues and reggae, whole collections included.
